Remove the Transmission Support Bracket.

xxxxxxxx

Not so easy 3 of the 4 bolts have a nut on the other side. Two of these nuts are inaccessable because of the Brake Master Cylinder.

Morris solution was to tack weld a nut retainer to secure the nut. In this case the bolt was rusty and turning it just disfigured

the nut retainer and it turned freely and inhibits the removing of the nut.

Since the Master Cylinder Bolt is on the left side in the picture, removing the bolt would require removing the torsion bar or in this case bending it downward to pull out the two bolts.

In order to use a "C-Clamp" to pull down the torsion bar I put a 2x4 wood piece to create a base for the clamp.

I user a hydrolic floor jack to hold it in place with the weight of the car.

Now you can remove the bolt.

You can see the purpose of the wood and the jack.

I will try to replace the bolt in the reverse direction so the next guy can remove it more easily. Note one of the brake lines to remove.

The Master Cylinder can be removed now. You can see both brake lines that need to be disconnected.

The Nut Retainer is in there somewhere.

Oh there it is !

This seemed to be the best solution

There, It's out now. I can replace it with the one I refirbished.
